For most would-be students of this topic of macroeconomics, it gets put on the back burner–social science when taken properly is a lot too complicated to understand. Even when we use a computer to help us, the results are still unclear for our simple brains to manage to follow! But there is an answer to this problem of complexity and one that engineers have been using in the past. This is to consider aggregate effects of similar acting individuals as if they were all the same.
